Jesus set the example of forgiveness from the cross. As Man, He forgave those who were torturing Him, even though they weren't sorry. Lk 23:34
Feelings and Obedience
In regards to forgiveness, we can't change our feelings, but we can, in obedience to God, say the words of forgiveness & let God work out changing our heart.
Forgiveness is Freeing!
Hard as it is, God says our forgiveness is tied to us forgiving others. Forgiving doesn't negate the harm or hurt done, but it does free us!
